Career
The french born striker, Benjamin Mendy started his club carrier for Le Havre on July 24, 2011, signing a three-year deal and made his debut in a 2-1 loss against Amiens. He later signed for Olympique de Marseille on the 8th of July, 2013 where he played with great potential and also caught the eyes of Leonardo Jardim who signed the left back on the 24th of July, 2017.
He laid so much impression by becoming one of the most crucial player and part of champions league favorite left back last season has he was among those who crushed Manchester City and made them saw the end of the competition.
He played so well in so much that he was deemed not fit to play against Juventus in the next round yet he wasn't left out of the first squad . His absence later contributed seemingly to the teams' not reaching the champions league final. He has also gained favor in the sight of his French coach Didier Claude Deschamps where he played at full length against Luxembourg and Spain in March 2017.
Benjamin Mendy has also progressed further by signing for Manchester City in a five year deal for 52million pounds, leaving French competition and facing a different ball game. He will fill the gap left by Aleks Kolarov who signed a new contract for AS Roma.
He his in no doubt a player full of great capabilities and has the tendency to lay crosses at set pieces, he has the ability to withstand pressure and his confidence is excellent with what the coach would love him as being part of the team. He is a rare talent that is also on the look out for this coming season. With the club's backing, he his capable of proving his worth.
